First morning in DAR

It is now 7:30am and we are wide awake after 5 or 6 hrs sleep. The room was nice and air conditioned. We hit breakfast where they had everything from yoghurt, baked beans, beef liver, sliced fruit, spaghetti, sausages, bread, and am omelet station. Yes, Kate did manage to communicate that she wanted an egg white omelete with minimal oil and no cheese. Success!

We are going to head to the local market this morning before getting picked up to check out the largest fish market in Tanzania, the coast, then a place called TingaTinga where they have artwork, then a driving tour around the city to see its vastness, then to the airport for a 3pm flight to Zanzibar.

Today is where we think the weight restrictions on luggage comes into play....44 lbs limit including carry-on. We will see how we fare with that. We were a bit over than when leaving home, but we ate so much trail mix on the trip here, maybe we are within the limit now. :-)

It is warm and humid here. There is also an unusual aroma in the air that strikes us as the same scent as a turkey cooking on a webber grill.

Okay, more later.
